avast! Free Antivirus 5.1.889

After a few beta versions, popular free antivirus avast! Free Antivirus has finally released its long-awaited version 5. The program offers you a complete and easy way of protecting your computer from viruses, infections, hijackings and more.

The all-new avast! Free Antivirus 5 brings important changes to the app’s appearance. The old interface has been replaced by a more modern and shiny design that resembles other popular antivirus tools. The new avast! Free Antivirus interface is more informative than the previous one and lets you check the system’s security status at a glance. Also, all the program’s tools and options are neatly displayed on the left-side animated pane, instead of being buried in menus.

But changes in avast! Free Antivirus 5 are not limited to the interface and layout. The new version is now compatible with Windows 7, and adds interesting new tools such as highly-detailed analysis stats, a silent mode that prevents the program from displaying desktop notifications – great for when you’re playing games – and a few visual and performance tweaks. Another outstanding new utility in avast! Free Antivirus is the so-called Behavior shield, which monitors your system in real time and warns you if avast! detects any suspicious behavior.

avast! Free Antivirus 5 also includes other, more common, features in antivirus software, like the possibility of choosing between different scanning modes, filters to exclude certain folders and support for scheduled updates.

avast! Free Antivirus is an excellent choice for those who are looking for a reliable yet lightweight antivirus that does its job efficiently. Download
